The Board of Directors of the Saint John Community Food Basket is pleased to announce a new effort to reduce food insecurity among school-age children in the uptown and south peninsula of Saint John. Together with the Anglophone School District, we have developed the "Adopt A School" program to augment school breakfast and lunch programs in local schools, including the two elementary schools and two high schools in our community.
Starting in 2025, the Food Basket will make financial contributions to schools in our community to help them purchase groceries tailored to their individual needs. The 2025 donation was $10,000 per school.
We look forward to working with the students, schools, and teachers to continue addressing the issue of poverty in our community. Financial donations to support this partnership will be appreciated.
